Louise - Project Interfaith Video #2
Reflection questions this week:
Tell us a little about your service experience this week?
When you were growing up, what did your belief system, faith, family and/or culture teach you about serving others? Do you agree with this? Why or why not?
What reactions have you gotten so far to your post? How has it been for you to have to share something as personal as your beliefs and identities in such a public way?

I agree it's tough to get the 1:1 relationship between service and seeing who you are serving. Unfortunately, most times it's easier to just raise money or donate money and have 'other people' actually do the work that goes to a charity (just wait until you are older and your time is even more limited!). And then, during the times when I have done the volunteer work directly with those in need I find myself uncomfortable because I know I won't necessarily be there the next day, and the next, so I feel like a bit of a 'volunteer tourist' who's simply interloping on the life of someone less fortunate. I guess that's why I like to take care of animals at the Humane Society...cats don't care if you haven't been to see them in a month!
