Chelsea - Project Interfaith Video #1

Reflection questions this week:

What does service mean to you?
Why do you want to participate in this project?
What do you hope to get out of it?

Comments:

What has interested you specifically in studying the Abrahamic religions?

My priest Fr. Tan Creti really got me interested in it. During one of my confirmation classes he read from different books in greek, latin, and hebrew, and that really sparked me so I started studying latin. He also really encouraged me to get involved with Tri-Faith here in Omaha.

Chelsea, I am interested in hearing more about your mission trips. How is that different than what you are doing now?

I did a mission trip to Homer Alaska to help build a prayer labrinth and do general clean up to a small church out there. Its different than this in that it has the aspect of different faiths and its closer to home. While I really enjoyed my time working in Alaska, I think this will have a great effect on me because its so close to home. Since we are working where we live I feel that I have already become more conscience of the problems facing Omahans.

Hi Chelsea. In your video, you talked about learning about the traditional Abrahamic faiths and the untraditional faiths. But, what is traditional? Because traditional means handing down beliefs and cultures, and it seems like all types of faiths or beliefs have been handed down through generations. Are you more refering to the Abrahamic faiths' popularity? I hope I'm getting you to think in a different way.
