History

Project Interfaith began in 2004 when Beth Katz, Project Interfaith founder and executive director, returned to her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska with a calling and passion to begin a sustainable interfaith program. The generous support of Dr. Edward and Sally Malashock enabled Project Interfaith to formally be launched in December 2005. For the first two and half years of its development, the Plains States Regional Office of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Public Affairs and Community Service (UNO CPACS) graciously acted as fiscal agents for Project Interfaith, allowing us to share office spaces and to use their tax-exempt statuses so that Project Interfaith could save on our initial start-up costs. While Project Interfaith has since formally incorporated and received tax-exempt status, we are grateful for the generosity and continued partnership of the ADL Plains States Regional Office and UNO CPACS as well as that of our many other supporters and donors.
