Description: Project Interfaith’s Development Intern will help expand our development efforts to meet our increasing funding needs. This position is for someone interested in learning all aspects of development tasks for a non-profit organization.
This internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and is an unpaid position.
Tasks: The internship will involve various tasks including:
• Assisting in fundraising and planning
• Organizing both physical and online development folders
• Prospective grant research
• Grant writing
• Donor prospecting and organization of prospects
• Contacting donors
• Writing letters and newsletter updates
• Corporate sponsor prospecting, and organization of prospects
• Assisting with grant progress reporting
• Assisting with annual appeal
• Assisting with upkeep of call sheets
• Working with other interns and staff
• Supporting volunteers
• Helping with office maintenance
Qualifications: This position requires someone who:
• has a passion for interfaith work
• is highly motivated, self-directed and has good initiative
• asks questions when needed
• is pro-active
• is a good writer & has good communication & interpersonal skills
• has strong organizational skills, and creativity
• is able to communicate with a diverse community
• is knowledgeable & comfortable with PC Operating systems
• enjoys working in a dynamic, growing office environment
• has impeccable attention to detail
• has web-based research experience
Grant-writing and Access experience is not required, but helpful.
Students interested in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and relationship-building are encouraged to apply. Professionals who are looking for more experience in this field or are interested in a career change are also welcome to apply.
